Aims and Objectives

1. Create awareness of the value of clean and nutritious food.

How?

  • By promoting good food at a grass roots level through:
    • The OBDA website;
    • local media;
    • selected retailers (including farmer’s markets); and
    • the food services industry.

Why grassroots?

  • The focus is on building relationships.
  • It is within the scope of our resources to impact on Adelaide and South Australia.
     

2. Support certified organic and bio-dynamic industry participants

How?

  • Promotion of best practice philosophy.
  • Promote the values of the organic and bio-dynamic philosophies.
  • Engage, encourage and collaborate with those parties whose organic and bio-dynamic philosophies and values align with those of our members.
  • Farm visits to educate members and the wider public.
  • Deliver news and publications to all grower and retailer members through the website.
  • Promote research and development through training, field experiments and other worthwhile initiatives.
  • Gather, share and distribute market information to all parties who want to participate in the organic and bio-dynamic food chain.
  • Networking.

3. Provide the industry with a consistent message.

How?

  • Be inclusive.
  • Co-operate.
  • Promote.
  • Be clear and disciplined about what we are trying to achieve.
